recipe dearth

i would post more recipes but my family seems to prefer the "kits" lately.

not the "homemade with ingredients" cornbread but the Jiffy mix.

not the "homemade with ingredients" cake/cupcakes but the Betty Crocker mix (with substitutions, of course)

not the "homemade with ingredients" macaroni and cheese but the powdered cheese-like substance box stuff

i'll post a recipe tonight that i make tonight, Girl Scout promise

in the meantime, for lunch we're having "cheater's baba ghanoush"-- i roasted an eggplant, pureed it in the food processor with an 8oz tub of hummus and

voila-- baba :o)

  1. Had tomato soup yesterday and added a spoon full of my homemade pesto sauce. So yummy. Will have to figure out a way to bring you some next time we visit.

  3. If you add pesto to the can of tomato soup... i think that it becomes a "recipe" as you had to cook. Hey, you made the pesto with ingredients thus the soup is "homemade". Just call you Sandra Lee (Almost-Homemade-Diva on the Food Network). :o)

  4. There is a reason that there are so many Duncan Hines mixes. I have just accepted that the mixes are popular because they're yummy. See recipe posted for my alterations to make it "almost homemade". :o)
